Petroleum Refining & Distribution Rooted in Alaska

For more than 40 years, Petro Star has met Alaska’s growing fuel needs. We take pride in being the state’s only locally owned petroleum refining and marketing company, with refineries in North Pole and Valdez and distribution facilities in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Valdez, Kodiak, and Dutch Harbor. Our products help power Alaska’s largest industries—including U.S. military operations, commercial aviation, electric utilities, oil and gas, and the nation’s largest commercial fishery—as well as providing for businesses and residential customers’ home heating and fuel needs.

More than 40 years in the making

Petro Star was formed in 1984 to fill a unique role in Alaska’s petroleum market and with the support of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation we have continued to grow. Our North Pole Refinery is strategically located near Fairbanks and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System for accessibility and efficiency. Over time, we expanded with the addition of our Valdez Refinery and grew through vertical integration, acquiring fuel distribution operations to better serve the Interior of Alaska and the North Slope.
